About me

Hello!

Here is an overview of my journey of graphic design.

I have been working professionally within the graphic design sector for six years.

Since secondary school I have always had an interest in art and design but I didn’t quite know what I wanted to specialise in. I chose art and product design as my optional GCSE subjects and that’s where my skills in design began to develop.

I’ve always enjoyed the painting and drawing side to art as this gives you an opportunity to fully creative but I didn’t feel as if this was my preferred method of art, however through experimenting and using different media, that is where my passion for graphic design really began.

When I was looking for my college course after my GCSE’s, I found that there were courses that put drawing and digital design together and this intrigued me.

I thoroughly enjoyed completing my extended diploma in art & design (3D & graphics) at New College Nottingham (now known as Nottingham College) as this gave me a chance to explore which pathway I wanted to go down as we covered multiple topics within art and design.

In 2016, after I completed my college course, I started my role as an artworker for Framework, a charity delivering housing, health, employment and support services to people with a diverse range of needs.

My role here covered a broad range of areas, from designing leaflets and posters to social media graphics, signage and everything in between.

Six years later, I started a new role at Slimming World (2022) as a creative artworker. Whilst working here I learnt many more disciplines of design, targeted towards the lifestyle market.

I am now enjoying my latest role at The British Psychological Society within the design team as a creative artworker.

Key strengths:

– Skills and extensive knowledge in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
– Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects
– Printed literature; leaflets, posters & brochures with knowledge of paper stock and print
– Designing various pieces of signage and external banners for events
– Good knowledge of branding (I am the brand guardian for Framework)
– Experience of creating social media elements such as banners and graphics
– Skills in fixing and editing photography
– Sourcing and designing merchandise.

In my spare time I’m a freelance designer. I really enjoy doing this as this gives me the opportunity to produce different pieces of artwork it also sharpens my graphic design skills and gives me an opportunity to meet to new people and work with new brands/companies.

I created this portfolio website to showcase my work and to show people my range of skills and passion.

All artwork is owned by me, please do not copy my work. If you would like to use any artwork or ideas, please contact me: [email protected]

Thank you and enjoy!
